Anna Tolputt trained under Kratsovskii on the Theatre Direction course at the St Petersburg Theatre Academy in Russia before returning to the UK and becoming an actor.  She has since directed and adapted plays for several UK companies including Polka Theatre, Armonico Consort, Chipping Norton Theatre, Human Story Theatre, Tiny Light Theatre, Creation Theatre and Bristol School of Acting. 

Anna co-founded Tiny Light Theatre with whom she writes, directs and performs.  She also works regularly as a director for Human Story Theatre and directs and teaches acting at Bristol School of Acting.  She has directed for Armonico Consort, Chipping Norton Theatre, Polka Theatre, Cherwell Theatre Company and Human Behaviour.  She was staff director at English Touring Opera.


She performed and produced Parenthood at Pegasus theatre and has worked with John Terry and Paul Ansdell on the wonder that is the Contagion Cabaret in its many different guises.
